Taylor Swift Helps the University of Kansas Swimming||

Taylor Swift‘s best friend, Abigail Anderson, called upon her famous pal the other day as she is trying to raise funds for her school’s diving and swim team.

Anderson, who attends the University of Kansas, asked Swift if she would autograph a Jayhawks basketball jersey to benefit the team. Not to let her friend down, the ‘Mean‘ singer gave her a hearty “yes.”

The white No. 1 jersey has the name ‘Swift’ embellished on the back in the school’s colors, cobalt blue and red.

Bidding started at $200 but quickly increased to the final bid of $1,005. Every cent went to the school’s water sports squad, of which Swift’s friend is a member.

After a short break, Swift’s Speak Now World Tour picked up again last week Oslo. The European leg continues with stops in Italy, France, Spain and the U.K.

Her next U.S. tour dates are May 27 and 28 in Omaha, Neb.

Swift recently released the song ‘Mean’ as the latest single from her album ‘Speak Now.’

Angelina Jolie Speaks Out On Behalf Of Political Refugees In Africa

As part of her work as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for refugees, Angelina Jolie is speaking out against the deadly political turmoil in the African nations of Libya and the Ivory Coast, or Cote d’Ivoire.

The actress called upon the world “to address this moment” in a statement she released today through the U.N., while in Kabul, Afghanistan, saying:

“As we witness these newest crises unfold in west and north Africa, it is critical that all parties respect the fundamental right of people in danger to flee to safety—whether civilians caught in conflict in their own country or refugees and asylum seekers caught in new conflicts. All I’m asking is that civilians be protected, and not targeted or harmed.”

We hope her message gets through to the world because tens of thousands of people have been displaced in the Ivory Coast with many fleeing to Liberia.

The U.N. has issued a joint appeal with the International Organization for Migration for a humanitarian evacuation for people trying to escape Libya for Tunisia.

Angelina’s statement continued:

“We have to give people safe passage, evacuation if needed, and ensure they have asylum. We don’t want to look back and find their deaths are on our hands.”

Absolutely! We’d hate to have that on our conscience.

Keep up the good work, Angelina! Thank you for being a voice for those who can’t be heard.

Will Angelina Jolie adopt again?

According to Renegade reports:

“Several local entertainment sites report the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie allegedly inquired at the Hospicio de San Jose in Manila on the process on how to adopt a child. The information was first shared by Harold Geronimo, a columnist at Manila Standard Today. Geronimo said on his tweet: “It was just an inquiry of adoption process, etc. according to sources (at) Hospicio. No concrete final details yet.”…However, no official statement from Hospicio de San Jose in Manila was released either to confirm or deny the report. The couple had not also released any word as regards to any plans of adopting a child, and in particular from the Philippines.”

So, will they adopt again?I don’t know how they can handle so many kids. Not doubt they have nannies but they can’t fully depend on them too.
